Kathy E. Carberry, RN, MPH

Kathy E. Carberry, RN, MPH, is an internationally recognized leader in value-based health care with over 25 years of experience across a diverse array of care delivery settings—including pediatric quaternary and outpatient care, adult subspecialty care, and academic medical centers.

Combining clinical expertise with a deep understanding of health systems and outcome measurement, Kathy designs high-value care models centered on improving health outcomes and patient experiences. She has led initiatives to implement outcome measurement programs at scale and to develop team-based care models that focus on delivering the outcomes that matter most to individuals and families. Her work advances value-based care locally, nationally, and internationally through innovative partnerships that align stakeholders across the health care spectrum.

Kathy is an Affiliate Faculty member in the Department of Ophthalmology at Dell Medical School at the University of Texas at Austin. She also designed and taught graduate courses in human-centered outcomes measurement and solution design and serves as a lead faculty member for Health Value Academy that delivers the High-Value Health Care Certificate Program for the International Consortium of Health Outcome Measurement (ICHOM).  She is also the author of How to Measure Health Outcomes and co-author on over 30 peer-reviewed publications.  Her contributions to healthcare innovation have been recognized with the Healthcare Informatics Innovator Award, the Good Samaritan Foundation Excellence in Nursing Award, and the Susan M. Cox, M.D. Academy of Distinguished Educators Excellence in Teaching Award.
